A New Chapter for Kampala's Music Lovers
Hello Kampala! I'm Ronnie, a Vinyl Curator. My world revolves around the stories told by grooves on wax—the warm crackle of a soul record, the driving beat of Afro funk, the smooth flow of old-school hip-hop.
I'm creating The Vinyl Sessions because Kampala needs a space where music isn't just background noise, but the main event. A monthly journey where we don't just play music; we explore it. This is a curated, thematic brunch series dedicated to the authentic sound of vinyl.
This is More Than an Event. It's a Musical Journey.
The Vinyl Sessions is a year-long expedition through the sounds that shaped our world. By supporting this launch, you're not just funding a party; you're securing a seat for an entire series of unique experiences.
Here’s the journey we'll take together:
· October: The Soulful Seventies: Soul & Disco
· November: The Electric Eighties: Funk & Boogie
· December: The Bold Nineties: R&B & Old Skool Hip-Hop (+ a special Christmas Brunch!)
· January: The AfroFunk Series: African Classics from the 70s, 80s & 90s
· ...and the cycle continues!
Why We Need Your Support (The Seed Funding)
To ensure the first event is flawless and sets the standard for the entire series, we need initial funding. Your pledge will be the seed that grows this entire project, covering:
· Venue Partnership: Securing a perfect home for our series at a prime location.
· Professional Analog Sound: Renting a high-fidelity sound system worthy of the vinyl we play. This is non-negotiable for the true experience.
· Series Launch Marketing: Promoting the entire year's concept, not just one event, to build a dedicated community from day one.
· Operational Costs: Ensuring a smooth, safe, and professional debut (permits, staff, etc.).
Transparent Budget Breakdown ($3,990 USD / ~15m UGX)
We believe in radical transparency. Your seed funding will be used solely to launch the series professionally:
· Venue Rental for Debut: $1,000
· Quality Sound System & Technician: $800
· Marketing & Design (Series Launch Campaign): $700
· Event Staff, Security, & Permits: $500
· DJ Fees (3 DJ's for 5 Hours): $500
· Contingency Fund: $300
· Nyamba Platform Fees (5%): $190

General Question
The plan is to host The Vinyl Sessions once a month, always on a Sunday afternoon. The debut is set for September 29th. After that, we'll aim for a consistent Sunday each month (e.g., the last Sunday of the month) and announce the full schedule after a successful campaign.
Nyamba.org uses an all-or-nothing model. If we don't meet our goal, all pledges are canceled and no one is charged. This ensures we only move forward if we can deliver the high-quality experience we've promised.
Your ticket is for a specific series of events, and we'll have your name on the list for each one. If you can't make a specific date, we can work with you to offer a credit for a future session, though we cannot offer cash refunds. Please let us know in advance.
Our goal is to find an excellent and consistent home for the series. A successful debut will allow us to secure a fantastic long-term venue partnership.
We love that! The vision is to have resident curators and guest selectors for each theme. Please reach out to us on WhatsApp at +256 701498001 after the campaign with a note on your preferred genre. We are always listening for passionate selectors.
